A Rated Picks:  

• Penn State (+) - Lost - Paterno catching shit from every talking head in sports radio & ESPN.  "The game has passed him by."  We'll take the heavy 10 and won't be surprised if the Lions outright win at Iowa.  Hawkeyes without starting center and will not dominate against Penn State.  Consider Iowa every bit as "young and rebuilding" as PSU.  We love going against teams without their starting center as this is a key position that is often overlooked by most handicappers and sportsbooks.

B Rated Picks: 

• Idaho - Lost - Sun Belt Conference match-up, and neither squad is thinking about the playoffs.  Vandals played a tough early season schedule... and lost most of those games by 10-14 points... they stay in the game and continue to improve.   On the other hand the Ragin' Cajuns are getting smoked worse and worse as the season wears on... we'll lay the small number.

• Syracuse (+) - Lost -  Orangemen have treated us well this year, and we see them able to run the ball here.  We're getting a TD in what should be a competitive contest.  Our home/away forecasting model has Pitt winning by 4.  Syracuse has a big play offense and there is always potential for a backdoor cover if it comes to that.

• Arizona (+) - Lost -  Wildcats played better ball in their last outing against UCLA.  Their off a bye and have had an opportunity to re-focus after the coaching change.  They upset Cal in a high scoring affair on the road last year, and we just don't like the feisty Bears as large favorites....

• Texas Tech - Lost -  We hit this on our Sunday night update as an "early bird" line opportunity laying a even FG, and sure enough it's gone to a FG+.  Red Raiders have favorable match-up advantages and should win the game - and they just may end up shredding Missouri.

2003 NFL Football Picks

A Rated Picks:

• No A rated NFL pick this week... but we do have one in the members area. 

B Rated Picks:

• Tennessee - Won -  It's a little early but the Titans are starting to look like an AFC championship contender.  Both of our scorecasting models have the Titans covering this number.... fundamentally we don't see any reason why they shouldn't.

• Over Houston/Indianapolis - Won - Our forecasting models have the Colts coming close to covering this total by themselves.  See little potential for a letdown in a division contest against overmatched foe (Indy in a tight division race with Tennessee).
