Free College Football Picks

9/27/03

We've cussed and discussed this weeks picks, following are our highest rated College & NFL picks

A Rated Picks:

B Rated Picks

  • @Syracuse  - WON - We hit Syracuse last week as our A+ College pick of the week.  We'll lay the FG and ride them again this week with a 4% play against a Toledo squad (we picked as a B-rated play last week)  getting a lot of respect - don't see the Rockets pulling off two Big East upsets in a row.

  • Iowa State (+) - LOST -  ISU off a bye and won't take Northern Illinois lightly.  We expect them to stay within the number and may pull the upset in this spot in what should be a competitive contest.

  • @ Kansas (+)  - WON - Jayhawks lost two starters early last year with team leaders QB Whittemore LB Banks Floodman (leading tackler in 2001) out for season with injuries. They're back and Kansas is competitive again. We'll take the home team and the generous points to play competitive against arch-rival Missouri.

  • South Florida  - WON - Army has nothing to play for and the Bulls are vastly superior team.  Cadets leaving CUSA after this season while new member SF looking to make a statement.

  • LSU - WON -  Mississippi State falling part.  Tigers could win this one without their offense stepping on the field.

  • Washington State (+) - WON -  Oregon hyped for Michigan last week and pulled the upset, which leads to solid value this week with the Cougars, who may outright pull the upset in this spot.

2003 NFL Football Picks

9/28/03

A Rated Picks:

  • Dallas (+) - WON -  Monday morning headline in NY city:  Parcell's - King of New York.  Listening to coach Edwards he doesn't sound confident of his team. Note that he's not playing mind games with Parcell's by talking up the Boyz', but rather diminishing his teams performance and ability.  Jets again without key contributors on defense - and the linebackers are so very slow.  Meanwhile Parcells has had the bye to come down off the mountain with their upset win on this field two weeks ago - He has had two weeks to prepare for the team that he built!  We're calling for Dallas to pull the outright upset in the big apple again.  Dallas has solid secondary that matches up very well to Jets receivers.  On the other side Jets depleted O-line unable to establish anything on the ground.  NY does boast a solid defensive line at the point of attack, however Quincy Carter's scrambling skills are best suited for just this type of defense (strong up front and soft in the middle); once he gets past the initial rush it's lights out baby.

B Rated Picks:

  • Over Jax/Houston - WON -  Both teams have vulnerabilities on defense that can be exploited.  This should not be an intense contest and we don't see either defense able to stop the other.

  • @ St. Louis - WON -  A big number otherwise could have been an A+ selection.  Rams will be very focused for this division opponent.  Look for Lamar Gordon to have a big day.  If not for a muffed punt reception and a questionable holding call Rams were the superior team at Seattle.

Also Likes:  Houston(+),  Washington,  Under KC/Baltimore

Welcome to Free Football Picks by Football Forecasters. Two football fanatics, but otherwise normal guys, presenting FREE football picks opinions against the  Vegas betting line. We claim that our free football picks are superior to the vast majority of "Insider" service picks found elsewhere on the web.  All of our football picks are sent to a professional monitoring service - TrackPicks.com. Allen and I strive to present a page free of corporate influences, no pop-ups, link traps, e-mail address harvesting, cookie trackers, or data-mining of any sort. It's just you and us Baby!

Allen Glover, handicapper at Football Forecasters.com sends his Top 25 ranked College and NFL picks to a weekly column at our local newspaper - the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.   However, the picks we present here at FootballForecasters.com are the picks we officially stand by for record keeping purposes. This is because we have a deadline to meet at the local paper. We are a dynamic site and reserve the right to upgrade and downgrade our selections on these pages throughout the week.
