"It is good to see, but better to foresee"--confucius

 Last Update: 9/4/02

Miami Dolphins A+  Winner

Update 9/04/02: Wanted to get our plays out right away. These are the games we are on.  Will add update with short commentary tomorrow.

Update 9/02/02:  As we've stated before, we're in this for the long haul.  We don't "make" plays in order to catch up.  That said, we see Cincinnati, playing at home,  as a play having real value at -3 to establish an edge over TCU for a potential bowl bid.

Update 8/20/02:  We're back, the Autumn winds are upon us once again!  It feels so good to see a game we can take advantage of.  We feel Virginia Tech and Lee Suggs will lay it all over the overmatched visiting Indians squad. What we especially like about coach Beamer is he likes to lay those goose eggs on teams.  Little worry about a backdoor cover here.

There will be some small changes to our web page this year.  As I've said before I'm not much of a webmaster - I'm a handicapper.  We try to make our page "efficient".  No banners, pictures, advertisements, flashing links, or popups. Nothing but our analysis of football. I've attempted to format the page so that I can update our picks each week in a clear manner with a minimum of "webmaster" time.  We spend a substantial amount of time each week  analyzing match-ups and looking for an advantage from the posted line, frankly I'm more interested in doing the football research than presenting a pretty page (sure wish you'd get your shit together Big Al and learn how to help me update this web page - if you did I would have to quit taking potshots at you).  Nice call on Va. Tech and Lee Suggs Big Al, now push yourself away from the dinner table and get on the slim fast plan.

Please take a moment to read our philosophy on Money Management. This short piece gives our views on a fundamental requirement to wagering success. The article is permanently linked at the bottom of this page. It has been tweaked a bit recently, and over the years.

I've disabled our old e-mail address for the time being. The new address is linked at the bottom of the page.  Too much crap from advertisers and repeated mailings of the Klez worm virus were being received at our old address. Sorry for any inconvenience to our regular correspondents.

The sports sites linked at the bottom of the page go directly to the football pages of the respective sites, as that's all we cover here.

Being as we nailed it right on the head, I've decided to leave the Superbowl analysis from last year up till we post a pick for an NFL game.

We have received numerous offers to do link exchanges with casinos, display advertising, and/or exchange e-mail lists.  As you can see we do not permit advertising on our page, we do not endorse a casino, and we certainly will not share your e-mail address's with others (for those of you who e-mail us). Nor have we ever sent an e-mail to a page visitor that was not in the form of a reply.

Peace & Prosperity to all,  Yee-Hah the season is here,

MISSION STATEMENT:  We give our NFL football picks against the Vegas line, and College football picks against Vegas odds every week.  Be aware that this is a dynamic site, we actively upgrade/downgrade the selections through out the week.   Check in by the middle of the week for a listing of games we have selected, AND be sure to check in before game time, as very often one or both of us will zone in on a play the day before kick-off.  We'll make 1-15 combined College and Pro football picks a week. We do not promise to pick 100% winners. However, historically we will pick a majority of winners over the course of the year.  Expectations are too pick a simple majority, a 54-66%  winning ratio is a realistic goal.   You will serve as our sports monitor, all of our picks will be stored on a weekly basis in the "Past Picks" link at the bottom of this page.  We will be sending our A and A+ plays to  The Sports Eye   monitoring service.  This page is a  no-nonsense banner free site.  We don't recommend a service or affiliate with casinos--it's just us baby.

Two seasons ago I received an e-mail saying he "needed a winner", asking on a scale of 1-10 "how strong" our A+ play was this week.  I replied that it's wrong about 30% of the time--so it must be a "7".  Unfortunately that weeks play was in the 30% category.  Folks there's no such thing as a lock--if you need one then you're in the wrong place and playing the wrong game.  I strongly recommend a short read on money management linked via "Vegas Tips" at the bottom of this page.

We are monitored by YOU, and the Sports Eye monitoring service.  During week 7 of the 2001 season Footballforecasters enjoyed the highest ratio and largest bank of all monitored sites, outperforming the pay for services "Mensa"  and  "Platinum" award winners.  However the award we appreciate the most is knowing we have assisted our visitors with an entertaining and sometimes profitable weekend. We will continue to give our best effort to maintain the high standard of success we have come to enjoy.

 @Miami vs Detroit

We have trends in our favor here, and strength on weakness advantages as well. Miami will showcase Norv Turners new offense, and super power running back Ricky Williams.  A+  Play

B rated plays:

Team W/L Comments
@Cincinnati vs San Diego Gus Ferotte has been named the starter for Cincy. He's an experienced competitor who just finds a way to win, he brings substantially  more experience than his counterpart, Drew Brees of San Diego; who we think will find it a rough outing against one of the leagues most underrated defense's. We like the home team to win, and like the price, laying less than a FG.
@Tennessee vs Philly Tennessee's defense matches up pretty well to Philly. They have quick and athletic linebackers combined with the ultra athletic Kearse, which should contain McNabb when he freelances.  Both McNair & George will be healthy for at least the 1st game of the year. We think both of these teams will go on to make the playoffs. This one should be in doubt till the end, but we like laying less than a FG with what should be a very scrappy Tennessee team in their home opener.

ALSO LIKES:    Jacksonville,  Dallas,  Minnesota,  Carolina
