We missed big with California, and on Sunday Seattle played one hell of an intense game. Strahan manhandled the Ram offensive line and was the MVP of the game in a losing cause.
8 for 17 (with 1 push) overall for 47%. "A" plays go 1 for 4. A+ play has now dropped to 5 for 10 on the season.

| @Ohio St vs Wisconsin | L | The Buckeyes are playing very good ball on both sides of the line while the Badgers may have packed it in for the season. We expect coach Alvarez will have his squad more motivated this week, but it won't make a difference. We first took notice of the Buckeyes going against them with UCLA in a game (we won) where they actually played the Bruins rather well. Ohio St by 18 |
| @Cal (+) vs Oregon | L | Though we won last week with Oregon as a late update we are going against them this Saturday. California played a scrappy game against Washington before last weeks bye. They have not won a game this year, yet the players seem to be grasping the new schemes, and the extra week to prepare should make for a very competitive contest. This is Oregon's third road trip in 3 weeks and two TD's is too many in this spot. We will not be surprised if Cal pulls the upset and feel this one will be undecided into the final minutes. A+ play |
| Miami @FSU | W | FSU is a very young team that is banged up, their defensive line is decimated. We don't see them slowing down the Hurricane and can only guess that this small number is due to the historical reputation of this rivalry. Ten years ago coach Bowden would have been analyzing film and getting his team ready to defeat a superior opponent; Early this week he was still in New York promoting his new book..."The Bowden Way". We smell a big defeat for the Bowden way. Canes to roll by 17 |

| Maryland (+) @ G.Tech | W | Thursday Game Posted 10/9/01. Maryland head coach Ralph Friedgen was the O.C. at GT last season and is the architect of their high flying offense, if anybody knows how to slow down the Yellowjackets scoring machine it will be coach Friedgen, who is also very good friends with his former boss. |
| Rice @Navy | W | Posted 10/8/01 We feel the Owls are running their option at a high level of efficiency. Navy is obviously a bit improved with Madden at QB, otherwise this would have been an A play. |
| Bowling Green (+) @Western Michigan | W | Posted 10/8/01 We we're happy to get this at 10 and feel the Falcons have the talent to get the straight up victory. B+ Play |
| @Virginia Tech vs BC | L | Boston College is good, but Virginia Tech is in an elite class. The Hokies have a tremendous defense, they don't even like giving up a score when the game's outcome is determined, that is especially why we don't mind laying points with them. |
| @Missouri (+) vs Iowa St | L | Iowa St is not as formidable on the road and it looks like the Tigers are starting to gel. |
| WSU (+) @Stanford | W | This one ought to be a shootout. The Cardinals have owned the Cougars in recent years, seeming to play their best ball against them, however this is an exceptionally potent Cougar team and they may score last--we like the points. |
| @Boise St vs Tulsa | W | Posted 10/8/01 Wow do we like this one. Boise St got spanked last week but they're a different team at home, where they have been able to top 40 in their two previous contests. Tulsa has been simply awful on the road this year. B+ Play |
| @Hawaii vs UTEP | W | The Miners are having a down year and haven't performed well at all on the road |
| Fresno St @Colorado St | L | Update 10/12/01 We've lost going against FSU twice this year and have been looking for the right spot to jump on board. We feel this is it: FSU is well rested coming off a bye week. The Bulldogs bring an intense defense with a tight secondary to Fort Collins while the Rams have had difficulty holding onto the ball. |
| East Carolina @ Army | W | Update 10/12/01 ECU has lost two in a row but they've actually been playing pretty good ball. Look for them to take their frustrations out on a floundering Army squad. |
| Florida @Auburn | L | Gameday Update 10/13/01 We're upgrading this afternoon game from the "also like" category to a B play. We kinda like Memphis too. |

| Denver @Seattle | L | Posted 10/8/01. Denver has two solid corners that can cover Seattle's young receiver's mano a mano, allowing the Bronco's to stack the line to stop the run and force Dilfer to throw. We're not making too much of Seattle's win last week over a banged up Jacksonville squad that was traveling from coast to coast. Denver has Superbowl aspirations while Seattle is in a rebuilding mode. Bronco's by 13 A Play |

| @Dallas vs Washington | L | Monday Night. What! you say. No we're not kidding. Washington really is playing that bad. Only laying three is cheap for the home team on this Monday Night prime time event. Someone on TV said that what Snyder did was buy a "fantasy team", that sums it up. The Redskins have loads of talented players, but they're not a team. |
| Tampa Bay (+) @ Tennessee | P | The Titans defense isn't what it once was, they don't have the man to man shutdown corners, they don't have the pass rush, and they don't have former DC Gregg Williams. The Bucs could win this one straight up, but we're getting a FG too, we like that. (It's beginning to look like the Titans were robbed in the Kevin Carter trade) |
| @St Louis vs NYG | L | The Giants best defense against the pass is a potent rush led by DE Michael Strahan, but Strahan will be going up against all pro tackle Orlando Pace. The Giants don't have the secondary to match up four wide with St Louis (in fact they don't have the secondary to go two wide with St Louis). If you thought Dayne was slow at home wait till you see him in a dome. We're taking the Rams to roll. |
