Team W/L comments
Air Force @Navy L The Falcons know how to run the ball, and Navy football players haven't been able to stop the run all season, it doesn't matter who's playing QB for the midshipmen.  Air Force to roll by 30   A+ Play
Syracuse @Rutgers L Update 10/5   The Orangemen could win this one without putting their offense on the field. Syracuse has a top shelf defense and they like to take the ball away.  Dwight Freeney will make it a long day for the young Rutgers QB, who has potential, but has obviously been thrown into the starter's role too early (coordinators son). The Scarlet Knights have had trouble holding onto the ball with a -18 turnover ratio ytd,  they have had trouble finding the end zone.   Syracuse by 39    Double AA  Play  (A+)
@LSU (+) vs Florida L This will be the Gators first challenge this season, we're looking for the Tigers to give them all they can handle.  Florida may win, but not by more than a FG.  A Play
@Tennessee vs Georgia L Update 10/5/01    Big Al's been on top of Tennessee so far, nailing an A+ play against Syracuse and calling for the cover by LSU last week.  We don't see the Bulldogs and their young quarterback hanging with the Vols. We'll lay em.   Tennessee by 21     A+ Play
@Maryland vs Virginia W The Terrapins have been playing solid ball all year and have a very aggressive defense. The Cavaliers like to run the ball as they're averaging 40+ rush attempts a game. However, Maryland has the best set of linebackers in the ACC and we're calling for them to stand alone at the top of the conference when this contest is over. Maryland by 16   A Play

@Oklahoma St vs Missouri L Posted 10/01/01 Opened giving less than a touchdown, if I couldn't get this for less than a TD don't think I'd play it. The Tigers are fundamentally sound but they don't have the people to play Pinkel's style of ball. The Cowboys are solid at home.  10/5  We've cooled a bit on this play, don't like it laying more than 6.
@Ohio St vs Northwestern W Posted 10/01/01 Opened giving less than a field goal.  The Wildcats are flying high but Ohio St has surprised us with their solid play, we're looking for the Buckeyes to have a little extra for this home conference opener.
@Boston College vs Temple W BC likes to score and they should have no trouble rolling it up on the Owls
Oklahoma (+) @Texas W The Oklahoma dee can be immovable when they want to be. The Sooners have played a tougher schedule and we feel they're the better team at this point. Take the points and look for Oklahoma to win outright.
Colorado (+) @K State W We were surprised to see the Buffaloes getting this many points. They'll have a shot at winning this one straight up.
Iowa St (+) @Nebraska L We haven't fared too well with Nebraska this year. But Iowa St is playing good ball, and they don't turn it over. We really like the generous number here as the Cyclones should be able to punch it in the end zone a few times themselves.
@MTS vs Idaho L Middle Tennessee State runs the ball well and they do it often. The Vandals are having a difficult time stopping the run. A classic mismatch pitting strength on weakness. We'll lay the points and take the Blue Raiders playing at home to roll.
Michigan @Penn State W The Wolverines are playing better than their record would indicate. Meanwhile a lot of pressure is on Paterno and his Lions, who just haven't been playing well. We don't see them turning it around here against a team that is very good at stopping the run.
@Wake Forest (+) vs NC State W Update 10/5/01  Wake Forest is tough at home and looks to win outright against the faltering Wolfpack.
@Utah vs S Florida W Update 10/5/01  The Utes are playing damn good ball. They're not on most peoples watch list but we're onto them. This is their second consecutive home game while the one dimensional Buffs are traveling to the high plains of the West coast.
Oregon @Arizona W Update 10/6/01

San Diego  @Cleveland L The Chargers are playing great ball and we do not see them overlooking the Browns. Cleveland is banged up and will be without starting tackle Tre Johnson, among others,  for this game.  San Diego by 10

St Louis @Detroit Warner is in a different class on turf.  The Lions are struggling adapting to their new offense, and they don't have the secondary to cover two let alone 4 wide. Lay em.
Chicago (+) @Atlanta W Anderson, Vick, Martin, Brown and probably Hamilton are out for the surprising Falcons. Chandler is hurting. The Falcons have SanFran on deck and may not be up for this contest. Meanwhile Chicago is starting Jim Miller and DaBears play well with Miller at the helm. Looks like a prime spot for Chicago to bag the upset.
