New England @Buffalo  L 12/26/01 Buffalo got their 1st home win under their belt against a weak Carolina team. Now perhaps the pressure is off. The Patriots are two games behind Miami for first place in the division and need a win here to have a chance at catching Miami when they meet next Saturday.  Our Scorecast has New England winning by 17 and we feel the intangible factors favor the Patriots as well.   A Play

Team W/L Comments
Atlanta(+) vs Indy  L 12/26/01  We crunched the numbers on this one with an eye towards taking the over. But the Scorecast projected a 46 point total which is right on the line, and an 8 point straight up victory for the Falcons. Atlanta has played well on the road this year and this game means more to them than the down & out Colts.
@Detroit(+) vs Minn  W 12/26/01  We had a hard time choosing between the points & Detroit and New England for our A play. That's how much we like the spot situation here for the Lions.  The rookie McMahon brings an element of athleticism to the Lions that the O-line appreciates. With the exception of the home debacle to the Rams the Lions have been in every home contest. While the Vikings are winless on the road and averaging 35 pts defensively per away contest. We see this one as a good Money Line opportunity as we have the home team nailing their first win.  For record keeping purpose Detroit is getting a FG.
Over 37 Dallas/Seattle  L 12/26/01  We crunched the numbers using three sets of scorecast data and the lowest total we had was 38 points. We've seen this total as low as 36 in some places, which is significant as it's under the key total number of 37 (37 is the most common total in NFL games). We feel the number may be low due to the Seahawks poor offensive outing against Denver last week. Seattle is without pro bowl corner Springs and that will probably help Dallas with one or two long shots downfield.

ALSO LIKES:  Arizona    SanDiego    Tampa Bay    SanFrancisco   Pittsburgh    O42 Tenn/GB   O38 NE/Buff
